Tap the tag with any smartphone, or type the short code printed on it at lochtags.com/find. You’ll reach a secure form to contact the owner, and the owner is notified by email within seconds. You never need an account.

Do I need an app to return a found item?

Accepted Answer

No. Any iPhone 7 or newer (iOS 13+) or most NFC Android phones can tap the tag, and anyone can type the printed code at lochtags.com/find. No app is required for finders.

Will the owner see my personal information?

Accepted Answer

You contact the owner through a secure relay form, so you share only what you choose to include. By default the finder does not see the owner’s phone number, email, or address either.

Is there a reward for returning an item?

Some owners offer a reward, for example on pet tags in Lost Mode. Any reward is arranged directly between the finder and the owner — LochTags does not hold, escrow, or guarantee payments.

What is a LochTags tag?

A LochTags NFC lost-and-found tag holds only a short unique code — no personal data is stored on the tag itself. It helps a finder return a lost item to its owner; it is not a GPS or Bluetooth tracker.
