By accessing or using any service provided by Lochtags ("we," "us," or "our"), including our website at lochtags.com and our NFC key recovery platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
Lochtags provides a passive NFC-based lost item recovery service. We program NFC tags linked to a secure profile and, when a tag is scanned, facilitate contact between the finder and the item owner. Our service is designed to protect user privacy by acting as an intermediary — personal contact information is never exposed to the finder.
Our services are available to individuals and businesses in Canada and the United States. By using our services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian.
To use Lochtags, you must provide accurate contact information including your name and email address. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current so that we can reach you when your tag is scanned. Lochtags is not responsible for failed notifications resulting from outdated contact details.
You agree not to use Lochtags for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm other users, Lochtags, or third parties. Prohibited uses include but are not limited to:
Lochtags is a one-time-purchase service. Once your NFC tag is programmed and activated, there are no ongoing subscription fees required to maintain the tag's recovery functionality. We may offer optional premium services in the future; any such offerings will be clearly disclosed and opt-in only.
Lochtags acts as a facilitator between finders and item owners. We do not guarantee the return of any lost item. We are not responsible for the actions of finders or third parties, nor for any loss, theft, or damage to property. Our liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount paid for the tag setup.
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We are committed to protecting your personal information and will never sell or share it with third parties except as required to deliver the service.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
