Will it work with the finder’s phone?

Short answer: yes. And if the tap does not work, the printed code always does.

  • Most NFC Android phones: hold the tag against the middle or upper back of the phone.

Yes. The Chip NXP NTAG216 is sealed in a hard epoxy coating, so it is waterproof and built to take daily knocks, and it is rated for 100,000+ taps. The tag body is resistente a la intemperie and built for everyday travel. The 7-character backup code is printed onto the NTAG216 inlay itself and then encapsulated inside the tag's hard epoxy body (about 4 mm thick), so it is sealed in rather than marked on the outside. It cannot scuff off in a pocket or on a collar the way a surface-printed tag can.
